CANDY CINNAMON NUTS 
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix first 4 ingredients. Boil to 246 degrees on candy thermometer or until a little mixture forms a firm ball when dropped in cold water. Add vanilla and nuts; stir until mixture sugars on nuts. Turn onto cookie sheet and separate nuts. Makes about 3/4 pound. Can substitute mixed nuts or raisins in place of walnuts.
