1 c. flour 1/8 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. brown sugar 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/2 c. chocolate chips 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/3 c. butter 1 tbsp. hot water 1 tsp. vanilla Sift dry ingredients, add nuts. Melt shortening, add sugar and hot water to melted butter. Cool. Add egg and vanilla and the dry ingredients. Pour into greased 8x10 inch pan. Sprinkle chips over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 or 25 minutes. |
