PULL APART ROLLS | |
3 1/2 to 4 c. bread flour 1 pkg. yeast 1/4 c. very warm water 1 c. hot water 1/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. vegetable oil 1 egg, beaten Dissolve yeast in warm water. Pour hot water over sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Add 1/2 cup flour, mixing thoroughly. Stir in dissolved yeast and add egg. Beat thoroughly. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn out on lightly floured board and let rest 10 minutes. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise until doubled. Shape into 16 round rolls. Place 8 in 9-inch greased round cake pan. Repeat. Let rise. Bake in 425°F oven for 10 minutes. Brush tops with melted butter when they come out of the oven. |
