TUNA CHEDDAR CHOWDER | |
This is a family favorite! 1 large potato, diced 1/2 c. carrot, diced 1/2 c. celery, diced 1 small onion, chopped 2 c. water 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 2 c. milk 3/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated 1 (6 1/2 oz.) can tuna 1 (8 oz.) can creamed corn pinch dried rosemary few drops hot pepper sauce salt, to taste Simmer raw vegetables in about 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Do not drain. Melt butter, blend in flour, gradually stir in milk and cook, stirring, until smooth and thickened. Add grated cheese, stir until melted. Add vegetables with liquid, tuna, corn, rosemary, hot pepper sauce. Stir well. Add salt as needed. Submitted by: Clair Lombardo |
