CANDIED YAMS 
6 yams, peeled and cut into 1/2 to 3/4 inch slices
1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
1 pinch of salt

Boil the cut up yams for 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat and run cold water over them.

In a separate saucepan bring the remaining ingredients to a boil. Dip the cooked yams in the sauce and place on a cookie sheet. Bake 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 30 to 40 pieces.
