CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP 
3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. strained tomatoes
1/4 tsp. baking soda
4 c. milk

Blend first 4 ingredients in heavy saucepan over low heat; add tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes, add soda. Add milk, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 5 minutes.
