DATE NUT PUDDING 
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. breadcrumbs
1 c. milk
1 egg
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 pt. whipping cream
confectioners sugar

Mix all ingredients together except whipping cream and confectioners sugar. Put into baking dish and bake until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely. Chop pudding into small pieces. Whip 1/2 pint whipping cream and add small amount of confectioners sugar to taste. Fold into pudding. Top with a dollop of whipping cream when served. This is a recipe from my Aunt Molly. It had belonged to Mrs. Gailer who was Uncle Tom's mother and is his favorite. When this is served, it reminds him of his mother from Germany.
