FRUIT CORDIALS 
1 (16 or 17 oz.) can blackberries, dark sweet cherries or strawberries
1 c. sugar
2 c. vodka or brandy

Drain fruit juice into a saucepan. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Simmer until all sugar is melted. Cool and add fruit and vodka. Store for 6 weeks in a glass jar, tightly covered, in a cool place. Strain; reserve fruit for ice cream or cake. Store cordial in glass container in a cool place. Makes 3 cups of cordial and about 1 cup of fruit for toppings.
