MOM'S DILL PICKLES 
Wash cucumbers, pack in jars. Fill with:

1 clove garlic
Big head fresh dill

BRINE:

3 1/2 c. hard water
2 1/2 c. vinegar, 5% acidity
1/4 c. canning salt, not iodized

Boil; pour over cucumbers. Seal with boiled lids and rings. Turn upside down in 2 or 3 inches of boiling water 5 minutes. 4 quarts.
