DATE NUT COOKIES 
2 eggs
2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. melted butter
3 1/2 c. cake flour
6 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat eggs well. Add sugar, butter, vanilla. Add flour, baking powder. Put in refrigerator overnight.

DATE-NUT FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates
1/2 c. nuts
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
Sm. piece of butter

Cook until all mixed. Chill. Spread over dough and roll like a jelly roll. Put in refrigerator overnight. Next morning slice 1/2 inch thick. Put on a cookie sheet. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
