SWEDISH MEATBALLS 
2 lbs. round or chuck steak, ground
1 lb. lean ground pork
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 c. dry bread crumbs
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. freshly ground pepper
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
Flour
2 c. light cream
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening

In large bowl mix together ground beef, pork, eggs, potatoes, bread crumbs, sugar, all seasonings and spices and milk. Blend thoroughly and shape into balls the size of a large walnut. Mixture should be soft. Coat meatballs with flour.

Heat shortening. Add a few meatballs at a time and brown on all sides over moderate heat. Do not crowd the pan. Transfer browned meatballs to large casserole. Pour cream over them. Bake at (preheated) 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serves 8.
