1 2/3 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1/3 c. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, brown sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Stir in water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla completely. Pour into ungreased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
