SIMPLE HOMEMADE PICKLES 
1 qt. kosher dill pickles
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. pickling spices
1/2 c. cider vinegar

Pour liquid off pickles. Slice to desired thickness. Place pickles in large enough bowl to stir. Place sugar and spices on top of pickles. Pour vinegar over all. Stir with rubber spatula until all pickles are coated. Let stand 1 hour or longer until all sugar is dissolved. Return to jar and store in refrigerator.
