BAVARIAN POT ROAST | |
5-6 lbs. boneless chuck roast 2 tbsp. fat 2 c. water 1 1/2 c. beer 1 c. canned tomatoes (or sauce) 1 tbsp. vinegar 2/3 c. chopped onion 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 bay leaf Heat fat in heavy Dutch oven or cook and fryer - brown meat. Mix all ingredients and pour over meat, cover and simmer 3-4 hours (maybe more). |
