APPLESAUCE DOUGHNUTS 
4 1/2 c. flour, sifted
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. applesauce
4 eggs
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
3 tbsp. cooking oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
Frying oil
Sugar

Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt together; set aside. Stir soda into applesauce. Beat eggs well. Gradually add both sugars and oil, beating well. Beat in applesauce mixture and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Mix well.

Drop by tablespoonfuls into hot 375 degree oil. Fry until golden brown; drain on paper toweling. Roll in sugar. Yields 5 dozen.
