SWEDISH SUGAR COOKIES 
3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/4 c. shortening
3 tbsp. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix dry ingredients as for pie crust, with a pastry cutter. Cut in shortening and add remaining ingredients. Stir well. Roll out and cut out. Use a fairly small cookie cutter, they expand in baking. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes. Wonderful Christmas cookies to frost and decorate.
