PRUNE SPICE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 c. sour milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 c. cooked prunes, seeded and cut fine

Blend sugar and oil. Add beaten eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together 3 times and add alternately with sour milk, beating after each addition. Add nuts, prunes and vanilla. Stir until well distributed through batter.

Bake at 300°F for 1 hour. While cake is still baking, prepare sauce and pour over cake while hot.

Sauce:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 to 1/2 c. water

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and boil for 1 minute. Do not beat. Pour immediately over cake while it is still hot.
