OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
2 eggs, well beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. sweet milk
1 c. shortening
1 1/4 - 1 1/2 c. sugar
4 or 5 c. Wondra or all purpose flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix eggs, milk and vanilla. Cream shortening and sugar and add to egg mixture. Mix flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda together and add to other ingredients. Add flour until dough is stiff enough to roll out. Cut out cookies with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and sprinkle generously with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are brown.
