IRISH STEW 
1 lb. lamb, cubed
1 lb. beef, cubed
1 med. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. oil
8 c. boiling water
1 lg. can tomato sauce
5 med. carrots, cut in half
6 med. potatoes, quartered
1 bay leaf
Salt & pepper to taste

Brown lamb, beef and onions in oil in a large saucepan. Add the boiling water and tomato sauce to meat; simmer 1 hour. Add carrots, potatoes, bay leaf, salt and pepper; cook until carrots and potatoes are done. Serves 4.

Optional: Add can of corn niblets and/or string beans.
