APPLE DUMPLINGS | |
CRUST: 1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. shortening 1/4 c. water 2 tsp. vinegar Salt SYRUP FOR DUMPLINGS: 2 1/2 c. sugar 2 1/2 c. water 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 stick butter Salt Peel and core 9 apples. Roll dough and cut in squares to cover apples. Place in deep pan or baking dish. Heat syrup and pour over the dumplings. Bake in 325 to 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until apples are done. |
