SCALLOPED POTATOES WITH HAM 
4 tbsp. butter
3 med. white onion, chopped fine
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. celery salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 c. half and half
1 c. grated, sharp cheddar cheese
6 med. potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 c. diced, cooked ham

Melt butter in saucepan and cook onion until soft. Stir in flour, salt, celery salt and pepper. Blend. Stir in half and half until sauce is smooth. Stir in cheese, cook until melted. Butter a casserole and alternate layers of potatoes, ham and sauce, ending with potatoes covered with sauce. Bake, covered, in a preheated 375 degree oven for 45 minutes. Remove cover and bake for 20 minutes longer, or until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown. Serves 6.
