YAMS HAWAIIAN STYLE 
2 cans (1 lb. 2 oz. each) yams drained
1 can (8 1/2 oz.) crushed pineapple
1/2 c. melted butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 light brown sugar
1/4 granulated sugar
1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans

Slice sweet potatoes into 1/2 inch thick pieces. Combine with pineapple, butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a 2 quart casserole. Place in microwave oven and cook on high 4 minutes. Stir. Sprinkle top with pecans and brown sugar. Continue cooking 2-4 minutes. If dish is not hot and topping melted after 2 minutes, give 1/4 turn before continuing to cook. Makes 6-8 servings.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
