APPLE TART 
1 (8 inch) unbaked pie shell
4 or 5 apples
3 tbsp. flour
9 tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. cold water
Cinnamon

Mix flour and 3 tablespoons sugar in bottom of pie shell. Cut apples in halves, peel and core. Arrange halves in pie shell, cut side down. Dot with butter, pour in water. Bake at 375 degrees for 60 minutes or until apples are soft. After tart is baked, press tops of apples with knife, letting juice run over. NOTE: Peach tarts can be made in the same manner, using fresh peaches.
