TWEETY'S TEXAS PECAN CRUNCHES | |
1 1/2 c. melted butter 1 c. white sugar 2 c. brown sugar 3 eggs 4 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 tbsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 2 1/2 c. chopped pecans or chopped almonds, toasted 2 tsp. butter flavoring 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt Mix sugars and butter together until smooth. Add eggs; mix well. Combine remaining ingredients in a separate bowl. Blend 1 cup at a time of dry ingredients to the butter mix. Refrigerate 1 hour. Shape into balls; flatten and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees until brown. Place cookie sheet on center rack. Using an oven pan on the bottom rack will deflect the heat and give cookies an even browning - not likely to burn. This method is good for other dishes as well: brownies, cobblers, roasts, and etc. You name it! |
