2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 large can evaporated milk
1 stick butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
(9 oz.) chocolate bits
1 c. nuts, optional

Bring sugar and milk to boil. Boil 8 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add other ingredients. Pour into buttered dish. Store in air tight container.
