HERB CHEESE BREAD 
1 long loaf San Francisco sour dough French bread or reg. French bread
1/2 lb. butter, softened
2 tbsp. grated onion
1 tsp. prepared mustard
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. poppy seed
1 tsp. Beau Monde seasoning
Individually wrapped Swiss cheese slices, cut in half

Mix together butter, onion, mustard, lemon juice, poppy seed and Beau Monde seasoning. Cut bread in 1 inch thick slices almost to but not through the crust, leaving slices connected by bottom crust. Between each slice put 1/2 slice of Swiss cheese.

Spread with seasoned butter generously on top of bread. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 325 degrees. DO NOT OVERBAKE. 8 to 10 servings. Also good without Swiss cheese.
