CHOCOLATE WALNUT BALLS
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. confectioners sugar, sifted
3/4 c. soft butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts, finely chopped

Melt semi-sweet chocolate morsels over hot, but not boiling water. Remove from heat. Sift and measure 1 cup all-purpose flour. Resift flour with 1/4 teaspoon salt and set aside. Combine 1 1/4 cups sifted confectioners sugar, 3/4 cup soft butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla; beat until creamy. Gradually stir in flour mixture. Add 1 cup finely chopped walnuts and the melted chocolate. Stir to blend. Shape into balls, using a level teaspoon for each. Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart and bake in a 250 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Makes 50 cookies.

Chocolate Walnut Balls have been in my family for 3 generations now. Don't mistakenly use granulated sugar; and watch the oven temperature. Made right, they will melt in your mouth.
