HICKORY NUT PIE 
2/3 c. sugar
2/3 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 tbsp. flour
2 2/3 c. milk
3 egg yolks
2/3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped Hickory nuts

Mix sugar, salt, cornstarch and flour in top of double boiler. Stir in milk, bring to boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir a little of hot mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks, then blend into hot mixture. Place over boiling water and cook for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Blend in butter and nuts. Cool; add vanilla. Pour into a 9 inch pan. Top with meringue.
