HEART(Y) CHEESE AND BACON
BISCUITS
 
2 c. sifted self rising flour
1/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
Heart shaped cookie cutter (2")
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. (4 strips) crumbled crispy bacon

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheet; set aside. Place flour in bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is consistency of coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese and bacon. Add milk and mayonnaise; stir with fork just until dough leaves sides of bowl. Turn out onto lightly floured surface or pastry cloth. Knead until smooth. Roll out to 1/2" thickness. Cut out hearts with floured 2" biscuit cutter. Place on prepared baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
