WHEAT AND OAT COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. honey
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/3 c. sifted white flour
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. rolled oats
1 3/4 c. chopped dates or raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream sugars and butter. Add honey, milk, vanilla, egg. Sift together and add the dry ingredients. Add the nuts and dates or raisins. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheet 2 minutes, then remove to racks. Makes about 8 to 9 dozen cookies.
