TOMATO PIE 
1 (9") deep dish pastry shell, unbaked
5 lg. tomatoes, peeled & thickly sliced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
3 tsp. dried basil
Garlic powder to taste
3/4 c. mayonnaise
1 1/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Slice, lightly salt and drain tomato slices on paper towels. Bake pie shell 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove from oven. Layer tomatoes in shell sprinkling each layer with salt, pepper, basil and garlic powder.

Combine and stir mayonnaise and cheese. Spread over tomatoes. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until browned and bubbly. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serves 6-8.
