APPLE PUDDING CAKE 
1 c. sugar (skimp if apples are not tart)
1/4 c. melted shortening
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 c. chopped apples (2 lg.)

Mix all. Put in greased 8 x 8 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes. Cake should be moist. May be served with whipped cream.
