SANDIES 
1 c. butter
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. sifted powdered sugar

Beat butter with mixer. Add half of the flour, sugar, vanilla and 1 tablespoon water. Beat thoroughly. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in pecans. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on wire rack. Gently shake cooled cookies in a bag with powdered sugar. Makes 36.
