YUM YUM CAKE 
1 lb. raisins
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. Crisco
1 jar maraschino cherries
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 tsp. water
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking powder

Boil together first 7 ingredients for 5 minutes. Then stir in 2 tablespoons Crisco and 1 jar maraschino cherries. Add rest of the ingredients by hand and bake in tube pan or 2 loaf pans that are greased and floured. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees or until done.
