SEA FOAM CANDY 
3 c. brown sugar
1 c. water
1 tbsp. vinegar

Cook the above over medium high heat until it forms a hard ball when dropped in cold water. Whip 2 egg whites and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add the part that you cooked to this and beat with a mixer until it is stiff enough to drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet.

This is the same Sea Foam recipe my mother used at Christmas time for 50 years. She never used a candy thermometer and always struggled with getting the texture just right, but it was still delicious no matter what. I'd suggest using a candy thermometer as well as testing for the hard-ball stage.

Good, but not for people with dentures, plates or soft teeth. You must have very strong teeth for this or just suck on it. I lost 2 teeth with this stuff, but just took my dentures out and sucked on it. Nothing says you have to chew it.
