TAMALE PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. onions, chopped
1 c. green peppers, chopped
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 (12 oz.) can corn, drained
1/2 c. ripe olives, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. chili powder
Dash of pepper
1 1/2 c. sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Cook meat, onion and green peppers in a large skillet until meat is browned and vegetables are tender. Stir in tomato sauce, corn, olives, garlic, sugar, salt, chili powder and pepper. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes until thick. Add cheese, stir until melted. Turn into greased 9"x9"x2" baking dish.

TOPPING: Stir 3/4 cup cornmeal and 1/2 teaspoon salt into 2 cups cold water. Cook and stir until thick. Add 1 tablespoon butter; mix well. Spoon over hot mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
