CHRISTMAS POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
1/4 c. milk
1 c. sour cream
3 c. sifted plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Cream Crisco, sugar and butter together. Add eggs, 1 at a time; mix thoroughly. Combine flour and soda to creamed mixture. Mix in milk, sour cream, vanilla and lemon flavoring. Stir in pecans, coconut and cherries. Pour in a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 1/2 hours or until done.

FROSTING:

1/2 stick butter
3 tbsp. Crisco
Powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Approximately 4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. flour

Beat butter and Crisco until creamy. Add 1 cup powdered sugar and salt; beat. Add 1 tablespoon milk and vanilla; beat. Add 2 or 3 more tablespoons milk and enough powdered sugar to reach desired consistency; beat well. Add flour and a little more milk, if needed; beat. Spread on cool cake.
