BOSTON BAKED BEANS 
1 lb. dried sm. white beans
Water for soaking
6 c. water
1 med. onion, chopped
4 slices bacon, cooked and broken
1/2 c. molasses
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. mustard
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Sort and soak beans overnight. Drain beans; discard water. In a 4-quart pot combine soaked beans and 6 cups water. Bring to boil; cover and simmer 10 minutes. Drain beans; save cooking liquid.

Put beans, onion and bacon in a large casserole. Add remaining ingredients plus 1 cup cooking liquid. Mix well. Add enough cooking liquid to cover bbeans. Cover and bake as needed to keep eans covered while baking.
