SCALLOPED ASPARAGUS 
2 1/2 lbs. asparagus
6 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. soft bread crumbs
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. milk
1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1/4 c. stuffed olives

Wash asparagus and cut into 2" pieces. Cook in boiling salted water until barely tender. Drain and put in shallow baking dish. Melt butter in top part of double boiler. Mix 2 tablespoons melted butter with crumbs. Blend flour and seasonings into remaining butter. Gradually stir in milk and cook over boiling water until thickened, stirring constantly. Add cheese and olives and stir until cheese is melted. Pour over asparagus. Top with crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Serves 4.
