GUMDROP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
1 c. colored gumdrops, cut up
2 c. quick oatmeal

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture. Add vanilla, coconut, gumdrops, and oatmeal; mix well. Drop by spoonful on a greased cookie sheet. Press with a fork. Bake at 375 degrees until nicely browned.
