PINEAPPLE PRESERVE BARS 
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. pineapple preserves
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Pineapple Frosting

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and preserves. Stir together flour, soda, and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Fold in nuts. Spread in greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes. Cool slightly; spread with Pineapple Frosting. Cool thoroughly; cut into bars. Makes 32.

PINEAPPLE FROSTING: Blend 1 1/4 cups sifted powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons softened butter, and 2 tablespoons pineapple preserves until smooth. Add enough milk (about 1 tablespoon) until of spreading consistency.
