BAKED BRISKET 
1 (4 to 5 lb.) brisket
1 pkg. onion soup mix
8 oz. water
3 carrots
4 potatoes
Mushrooms (opt.)

In a roasting pan, sprinkle 1/2 of the onion soup mix in bottom of pan. Place brisket in pan, sprinkle remaining soup mix on top of brisket. Pour water around meat and on top of meat. Cover with foil and bake 1 1/2 hours. Remove foil, place carrots and potatoes around brisket and continue baking for 1 hour or until done. Mushrooms may be added with the carrots and potatoes.
