CHERRY DESSERT CAKE 
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 1/2 c. pitted fresh cherries
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. cream, whipped

1. Beat eggs until light. Gradually add sugar and beat until lemon colored.

2. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well.

3. Add water, vanilla and almond extract and mix thoroughly.

4. Pour mixture into 2 (9") cake tins lined with waxed paper.

5. Drop cherries and nuts over batter.

6. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

7. Serve with whipped cream between layers and over top. Serves 8.
