1 c. any good vegetable oil/oleo
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. white corn syrup
2 egg yolks
2 1/2 c. flour

Mix; chill and roll into 1 inch balls. Dip into slightly beaten egg whites, then into 2 cups finely chopped nuts. Place on greased cookie sheet; press half or 1/4 cherry into top center. Bake at 325 degrees about 20 minutes.
