FRESH PEAR PIE 
6 c. fresh cooked pears
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 stick butter
4 tsp. cornstarch
Spices to taste (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) (approx. 1/4 tsp.)
1 pie shell
1/2 c. sugar

Mix cornstarch with warm water until dissolved. Combine pears, cornstarch, sugar, butter, vanilla and spices. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. (Use a cookie sheet or any pan to catch drippings.) Lower oven to 350 and bake until done, approximately 20 minutes. Serve with ice cream or Cool Whip.
