COCONUT MACAROONS 
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
2 c. shredded coconut
1 tsp. almond extract
2 egg whites (optional)

Mix condensed milk and shredded coconut with almond extract. Drop by spoonfuls on buttered baking sheet about 1" apart. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, until a delicate brown. Makes 2 dozen.

NOTE: Two stiffly beaten egg whites may be folded into mixture just before placing on pan.
