AUNT EVELYN'S CARAMEL CORN | |
4 c. brown sugar 4 sticks butter 1 c. white Karo syrup 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 2 batches hot air popped popcorn (pick out all old maids) Combine sugar, butter, Karo, syrup and salt. Boil 5 minutes over medium heat. Stir constantly. Add soda; stir well. Pour at once over popped corn and stir. Pour onto 2 large cookie sheets and place in 225 degree oven for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool and store in airtight containers in cool place. I always add cocktail salted peanuts (4 cups). You can also add other nuts or raisins. |
