1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. very finely chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs, add sifted dry ingredients. Beat well, add nuts, blend. Shape into 2 logs to freeze, wrap in wax paper, freeze. To bake, slice very thinly. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 5-10 minutes in 350 degree oven.
