AUTUMN SOUP FOR TWO 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onions
2 c. hot water
3/4 c. celery or chopped shredded cabbage
3/4 c. cubed raw potatoes
1 tsp. salt (omit for salt free diet)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 bay leaf, crumbled
Pinch basil
1 med. can tomatoes, cut up

Brown beef and onions. Then cook for 5 minutes. Add all vegetables and seasonings except tomatoes. Bring to boil and simmer 20 minutes. Add tomatoes and more water if necessary. Simmer 10 more minutes.
