OLD FASHIONED FUDGE | |
2/3 c. Hershey's cocoa 3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cans evaporated milk 1/4 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. peanut butter (optional) 1 c. nuts (optional) You will need 2 buttered containers. Combine in large saucepan the cocoa, sugar and salt. Slowly stir in cream until it is smooth and creamy. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full rolling boil. Reduce heat and keep stirring candy. Test by dropping a small amount into a cup of cold water. When it forms a soft ball, remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter. Add peanut butter and nuts, if desired. Stir and pour into buttered plates or pans. |
